This one is for all you glam gals that like to get all dolled up for a fashionable night out! Imagine you’re in New York strolling through the streets back to your chic high rise loft! You’re about to kick off your heels & unwind for the night, but you get a text from your girls saying to get ready for a boujee night out in the city. Boujee nights call for a nice dinner, drinks, & a show! You sprint to your closet because they’re coming to meet you in 30 minutes!! This gives you barely any time to get ready, BUT you open your closet & the 5 most perfect satin dresses (from Shelby jewel of course ;) ) magically appear! You’ve got a black halter midi satin dress, copper satin slip midi dress, rust knotted satin midi dress with a slit, bronze long-sleeve satin mini wrap dress, & a rich rust satin mini wrap dress.  .  .  which one do you choose?

    #1

If you chose #1 you got The Leana Slip Dress! She is our black halter midi with a high neck tie. She is form fitting to show off that beautiful figure of yours! Black is always a great option for a night out color. The quality of the dress is so nice it will have you feeling boujee & classy! The dress is simple yet elegant so it would be great paired with either a pointed toe stiletto or a clean strappy heel. To show off that halter neck, pull your hair up in a claw clip & add some dangle earrings like our Hook Thread Hoop. Get ready to turn heads because this dress is the one to do it!!!

    #2

If you’re a #2 dress girl you chose the Paris Nights Slip Dress! The deep copper color & the satin material make for the ultimate perfect combination for a fall slip dress!  This dress says, “I’m elegant & classy & on point with a pop of color!” She has adjustable straps so it can hug you perfectly! The awesome thing about her is that you can dress her down if you want to go more casual, by adding some sneakers & a sweater over the top. But, because this is a boujee night, a nude strappy heel would be just the thing you need.  Style her with your hair down & some thick gold hoops for a bolder statement!

    #3

Helloooo miss thang! If you chose #3 you got the Matea Knotted Slip Dress. She is a one of a kind built just for you!! This dress is for the bold & confident gal with her low cut neck! She has a deep rust color with knotted straps to show off that pretty collarbone of yours! She’s definitely a sassy dress with her side slit and form fitting silhouette. Wear this dress with some nude or clear strappy heels. Don’t forget to add some gold shiny jewelry like our new Caroline Link Bracelet or our Marlene Marble Hoops. I know you’re going out for a dinner & a show, but she’s definitely going to steal the show!!

    #4

Alrighty girl, you chose #4 which is the bronze Cassidy Wrap Dress!  Get ready to show off those legs of yours because she’s a mini dress! Not too short & not too long, she is the perfect length. This was made for a puff sleeve princess! The long sleeve puff is dramatic enough for a boujee night, but still classy. She has several buttons inside to keep the wrap secured so you can look fab all night long! There’s also a tie on the side you can make into a bow or tie it in a simple knot to make it even more dramatic. She’s going to need some black or nude strappy heels to top it off!

    #5

Who wants a scarlett rust mini wrap dress? That’s right, you do girl!! You chose the beautiful & flowy Adonia Wrap Dress. She is definitely fun & flirty with her ruffle flair. • Sweater Weather Staples

    Sweater Weather Staples

Okay ladies! In case you didn’t know, sweater weather is finally here! It’s time to bring out all the long sleeves & warm fuzzy socks that you’ve got hiding in the back of your closet!  If you live in the south then you know that this heat is no joke. We will be talking about transitioning from summer to fall clothing & our best friend, aka: layering! Shelby Jewel has great staple pieces to keep you warm on a chilly night, but they can also be worn during the sunny day because of how light weight the material is!

One of my favorite things about fall is the fact you can layer up with a long trench coat or a nice shawl! Shelby Jewel has the perfect outwear staples which includes out Melanie Shawl Collar Coat in cream. She is light weight with deep pockets & has scuba-like fabric. This chic coat would be beautiful on top of our Elouise Midi dress in black, which is our favorite new little black dress. Sometimes it can be hard to layer a midi dress just right, but that’s what I’m here for ;) My favorite way to layer a dress or “make it new”, is to add a sweater on top of the dress. I would also add a belt to cinch the waist which makes it look smaller! If you want to dress like a Shelby Jewel gal you can’t forget about a sleek leather jacket. We have THE perfect Rizzo Moto Leather Jacket that is a statement piece in itself!

Sweaters in September are a definite yes!! I know in some places it can still be warm, but that’s why we have three quarter length sleeves and light weight material!  Shelby Jewel has new neutral toned sweaters with front pockets that can be paired with about any pant! This fabulous sweater is called the Ames Knitted Sweater that can come in cream or mocha. For an end of summer look, pair the cream Ames sweater with white trousers and flats! For a warm fall look, pair the mocha Ames sweater with darker wash jeans & booties! We also have a new Russo Ribbed sweater that has fitted arms & a fitted waist, but is still flowy at the same time. This sweater can be layered on top of a dress with a belt or dressed down with some dark washed denim for a chill night out.

We can’t forget about fall accessories!!! This time of year the sun is still out, so some show stopping sunnies are what you need! Shelby Jewel has Rolling Stone Sunnies & the Sure Thing Sunnies that add a little spice to your fit! We love a good gold staple earring like our Through and Through Hoops & our shiny Movement Hoop . If you’re looking for a more simple every day wear earring we also have the Drop Circle Mini Hoop, Pressed Midi Stud, & the Dotty Diamond Stud. Don’t forget to add our new Blooming Statement Ring. This ring is a personal favorite & it has a little vintage look to it!

  • White After Labor Day

    White After Labor Day
It’s about that time of year when everyone is asking, “Can I wear white after Labor Day?” The answer is, of course! We know there’s a “rule” that says white after Labor Day is a no go… but the Shelby Jewel gals think otherwise!  Ready for a history lesson? Apparently, the rule was invented in the nineteenth century as a way to establish who is wealthy and can leave for vacay while others have to stay and work. White clothes represented the half of society that could afford to get out of the city in the fall/winter. This tradition has become outdated over the years because clearly white is a classic color that can be styled through any season. I suggest we throw out that rule and add in “White is imperative for every season because it is simply fabulous! Out with the old, and in with the new.”
You can quote me on that!

The next question you must be asking is, “How on earth can I style classic white the way Shelby Jewel gals do it?”

Follow along with these styling tips!

We’ll start off with white denim. Since we’re styling into fall try pairing a light sweater with white denim and booties. Add a brown trench coat and some gold accessories to top it off! We suggest wearing a warm neutral tight sweater to balance out the two different colors.

Now we can move onto layering, which is the key to success in the fall! If there is a sweater vest involved, I suggest pairing it with a white tight, long-sleeve like our Gentle Winds Mock Neck Top. You can always use tip #1 and pair it with white denim jeans or our Essone Denim Skirt. The Lindley Sweater Vest would look great layered on top of the white Gentle Winds Top with our Peniel Wide Leg Trouser. If you want another white layered option, use our Kate Belted Mini Dress with the Laverne Sweater Vest paired with our Brazil Black Booties. Sometimes layering can become too heavy, so make sure that your base (aka: any mock neck or long sleeve) is light weight! If you really want to show off your outfit, tuck in the front of your top just a little to make it fresh and elevated!

Last but not least we have the classy statement white piece!  This one can be tricky because if you wear too much white it can become a spring/summer look. This means the white statement piece needs to be balanced out. For example, we have our Julie Sweater Top (in white of course) with the brown Peniel Wide Leg Trouser. To make this fit come together, you can add our white Evita Flats for an elevated, balanced look. Another option would be to pair our white Cara Cardigan with the Brittany Off White Top. If you add a neutral bottom like the Kenny Vegan Leather Pant, it tones the white down. There’s always a way to balance it out, whether it’s with accessories, shoes, or blazers!
